When I first started watching Veronica Mars, the show was on its 2nd season. The Pilot got me around, hm, the first second? Ok, when Veronica called herself a spinster I thought she was pretty cool. But when she said "Life is a bitch, till you die"... man, the girl is awesome! And right there I fell in love with Veronica, the marshmallow. Besides all the awesomeness... she's also so pretty and cute! How can you not love Veronica right away? The 1st episode is amazing in so many ways. I love how she kicks so many asses (Weevil's, when she asks to see his big thing, lol, Logan's, when she says she wants no apologies from him, the director's, during the drug search... anyone else?) and how they tell the story backwards, all the lines, the acid humor... I love everything about this episode. Oh, and Backup. Mom, can I get a dog this time?

Veronica Mars: Let's not forget Logan Echolls. His dad makes twenty million a picture. You probably own his action figure. Every school has an obligatory psychotic jackass. He's ours.
Mrs. White: And what do you suppose Pope meant by that?
Veronica Mars: Life's a bitch until you die.
Veronica Mars: So it's big, huh?
Weevil: Legendary.
Veronica Mars: Well, let's see it. I mean, if it's as big as you say, I'll be your girlfriend. We could go to prom together! (I love the face she pulls when she says "girlfriend" and "prom" lol)
Veronica Mars: Quite a reputation I've got, huh? You wanna know how I lost my virginity? So do I.
Wallace Fennel: That might play with the masses, but underneath that angry young woman shell, there's a slightly less angry young woman who's just dying to bake me something. You're a marshmallow, Veronica Mars. A twinkie!
Keith Mars: Who's your daddy?
Veronica Mars: I hate it when you say that.
Veronica Mars: Let him go.
Weevil: Are you sure? I could do this for a while.
Veronica Mars: I don't want his apology.

Date: 2008-07-03 02:53 am (UTC)And then YES to so many of the things you mentioned -- Veronica's a character who just grabbed me right away. Kristen is completely amazing; she can do that valley-girl imitation precisely on cue (like you were talking about with Weevil), and it's like she knows intuitively how to deliver every line.
Plus, Mr. Clemmons's picture in her locker (surrounded by a heart) just gets me EVERY time. "Well ... this is a little embarrassing!"
Yeah. It's fantastic. Female characters like her just aren't around enough.

Date: 2008-07-03 03:07 am (UTC)YES! Kristen is completely amazing indeed. I fell in love with her as much (or maybe even more) as I fell for VM! Yes, yes, she just KNOWS how to deliver every line, she has the right tune for everything, comedy, sarcasm AND drama. And Veronica is a hell of a character, Kristen was lucky to have her! Well, and Veronica was even luckier to have Kristen, 'cause I don't really think enybody could play her better. It's like Rob made VM for KBell.
